Earths layers

Crust
The crust is only about 3-5 miles thick under the oceans. The crust is the first layer of the earths surface. The crust is made of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks.

Upper mantle
The upper mantle contains 10.3 % of the Earth's mass.
Temperature is about 2000 to 3000 degrees celsius maybe less. The mantle is the thickest layer of the earth, it is made of semi-solid rock.

Lower Mantle
Much hotter than the upper mantle. More dense to. The lower mantle is 49.2% of earths mass. Made up of magnesium, silicate, and perovskites, oxygen, iron, calcium, and aluminum

Outer core
It is a magma like liquid layer that surrounds the inner core. It creates earths magnetic field. Made of iron and some nickel. Not many rocks iron and nickel left in the outer core. It is 2200 km thick. The temperature is 4000-5000 degrees Celsius.

Inner core
It is the hottest layer of earth. The temperature is 5000-6000 degrees Celsius. Melts all ores. Marketing them liquid magma. Densest part of earth. It is a solid ball made of metal.

Continental crust
It is made of granite, other plutonic rock, schist and gneiss. It is 0.374% of earths mass. About 40% of earths surface is underlain by the continental crust. About 40 km thick.

Oceanic crust
About 7 km thick. It is made of basalt underlain by gabbro another rock isdiabase. It is about 0.099%of the earths mass. It's temperature is 57.8 Celsius.
