PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Earth has four main layers. The four layers are the crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core.
The crust is a layer of rock that forms Earth's outer skin. The crust is right above the mantle, and is the coolest layer in temperature. Crust has two main rocks that make it up, basalt and granite. Basalt make up most of the oceanic crust. Granite makes up most of the continental crust.
The mantle is the second layer in the Earth. It is hot, dense, and semi-solid. The mantle lies between the crust and the outer core. The mantle also has a lithosphere and an asthenosphere.
The outer core is the third main layer of the Earth. It is made up of mostly iron and nickel. The iron and nickel is melted into a type of molten lava, which makes the outer core very hot.
The inner core is the fourth main layer of the Earth. It inner core is very hot, although it happens to be solid. It is known to be as hot as the center of the sun.
