Earth homes arnt necessarily built in/underground, as long as it is built and styled by the characteristics of natural characteristics it is considered an Earth Home.
Earth Homes with dome ceilings make the house brighter which puts effects on the design of the room.
If the home isn't ventilated correctly the house gets very humid because the air doesn't circulate.
Some Earth Homes have a theme of a cave or tunnel because when looking at one that is what they remind people of.
Plants are often grown on top of Earth Homes.
The house is built on a flat site, and the living spaces surround an outdoor courtyard
They provide extra protection against weather conditions.
Natural drainage must be directed to go away from the house so the house doesn't flood.
The house must be waterproofed because the location it is in requires rubberized asphalt, plastic and vulcanized sheets, liquid polyurethanes, and bentonite clay for walls.
Earth Homes often have bad air exchange which causes the house to be very stuffy with no breeze with the doors or windows open.
