What is it? Where is it Found?

  • Recessive gene
  • Cardiac & Skeletal Muscle
  • X Chromosome

How is it Caused?

  • Mutation on Dystrophin gene
  • Not environmental mutagens
4.

Symptoms

  • Frequent Falls
  • Fatigue
  • Poor balance
  • Scoliosis
  • Loss of ability to walk (by age 12)
5.

TREATMENTS

  • No Cure
  • Prescriptions, physical therapy, to improve quality of life
  • Inactivity can worsen this muscle disease
