Where did it start?

• Drugs first originated from plants
• They were used for medicine in the beginning

Illegal Drugs

• During the 1900s, illegal drugs were discovered.
• The drugs were very despised and not noticed.

What are illegal drugs?

• Illegal drugs are drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc.

Going worldwide

• Marijuana became highly popular when it was invented
• When crack was invented, drug usage went worldwide

Who is affected?

• Mainly teens who are curious or depressed abuse drugs
• These are usually people from between 12 to 20 years of age

Why?

• Teens take drugs for multiple reasons
• To fit in, escape reality, rebel, etc.

Who else?

• Occasionally adults will be affected by drug usage
• Adults who abuse drugs usually supply them

How it happened

• When drugs were discovered, the government did not reinforce the problem
• Only when crack started did the government begin to make it illegal

How is it taken?

• Drugs are taken through the nose, syringe, etc.
• Drugs can also be smoked

Effects of drugs

• Drugs tap into the mind, giving it a "relaxed" feeling
• These feelings make people want to abuse drugs

• Drugs can distort a person's surroundings

• Drugs can put you in a fake cheerful state
• Wipe out your senses (hearing, seeing, etc.)

Where?

• Most drugs are used in the Western Coast, Colorado, and the Northeast
• Keep in mind this is for use of marijuana and cocaine, not smoking .

How can we fix it?

• The government has made drugs illegal
• There is therapy available for people who take drugs

What else?

• Besides therapy, rehab is also a good way to reduce drug usage

What can we do?

• Encourage people to not take drugs
• Get help if you or someone else is abusing drugs

Why has it not be done?

• Many of the worlds population take drugs already
• This makes it hard to tell them to get therapy
