PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Hiccup
Hiccup is a skinny and small boy who lives in a Viking tribe. He gets bullied because of his size, yet he is the son of the chief. He is a clever boy nonetheless and has only two friends, Fishlegs and Camicazi. He also has a very tiny common dragon named Toothless who is very greedy and isn't polite at all. Hiccup himself is a great sword fighter and can take on adults.
Fishlegs
Fishlegs is rather a small boy who has asthma and gets sick all the time. He is not good at any Viking things and can't swim. He has a dragon called Horrowcow who is slightly bigger than toothless and is very scared of other dragons.
Camicazi
Camicazi is part of the Bog-Burglars tribe. She is the heir to their throne and her mom is the chief Big Bertha. She is a excellent sword fighter and a burglar. She also is great at breaking out of prisons. Her dragon is named Stormfly and she is a Mood dragon.
Stoick
Stock is the chief of the Hooligan tribe and his son is Hiccup. He never listens to Hiccups ideas that much yet he loves Hiccup very much. His dragon is named Bullheart an adult dragon.
Alvin
Alvin is a very ignorant, evil, and violent person. He is always trying somehow to get rich or become king so he can enslave the dragons and be drunk with power.
Excelliner
Excelliner is a witch who just happens to be Alvin the Treacherous mom. She is trying to convince everybody that her son is the heir to the throne. She also is trying to create a sword fighting contest and have her son win so that he can become the king of the wilder-west.
Snotlout
Snotlout is the annoying bully who is trying to become the heir and knock Hiccup out of the way. He is Hiccups cousin and won't stop bullying him and Fishlegs. His dragon Fireworm is a Monstrous Nightmare which only chiefs and heirs are allowed to have.
The Setting
This story starts off below a mountain that has a flat side and a walking side. The young warriors like Hiccup have to climb up the flat side and senior warriors get to walk up the walking side. Then they appear at Flashburn who is the greatest sword fighter of all times school.
The Plot
The plot is that while both groups of warriors were climbing up the mountain they all got attacked by wild dragons who were hunting humans. When they all finally got to the school mostly everybody was tired, scared, and mad. Once they got there they found Excellioner the witch, who said that the school had been invaded as well and that everybody had died except for her.
The Plot page 2
The witch was then was able to setup a sword fighting contest and made so that whoever won would be the King of the West and all the tribes. She only did that because she thought her son could win since he was being taught by the greatest sword fighter of all time, Flashburn, but instead of Alvin winning the contest Hiccup and his father met in the championship. It was a tough fight and in the end... HICCUP WON!!! So what he did is try to set all dragons free but while he was talking Snotlout through a rock at his helmet and it knocked of his helmet and...
The Plot Page 3
You may not think this is important but is it is why Hiccup did not become king right then, because of the slavemark. The slavemark is a branded stamp that is permanently branded onto slaves. Hiccup in the earlier books had accidentally got it branded on him yet he has been hiding it under his helmet since then. Now back to the story, once the rock had knocked off the helmet everybody saw the slavemark and they decided he could not be king for he had the slavemark. Right as they decided that that he could not be king the dragons attacked. But all the dragons went after Hiccup and he climbed on his rider dragon and flew up where the dragons could not follow after that the he ran away and became an outcast and the Vikings decided that Alvin should have been king.
Review
I think the book was very nerve-racking and exciting, it just was able to capture my interests after I read the first page. All the chapters were very intriguing and most characters had their own unique characteristics and abilities. In the end this was a great book and hopefully you will read it soon.
