  • >Mengele was born, the eldest of three on march 16, 1911.
  • >In 1937, mengele joined the Schutzstaffel (SS Protective Squadron)
  • >Dr. Mengele was promoted quickly because of his skill and
  • devotion to the Nazi party
  • In school, Mengele developed an interest in Music and Art

MENGELE'S EXPERIMENTS

  • >While he was in Auschwitz he saw his opportunity to perform human experiments
  • >Mengele's subjects were better fed than the other prisoners and were
  • temporarily safe from the gas chambers
  • >Dr. Mengele's experiments were primarily directed towards identical twins and dwarfs.
  • >When talking to the children he introduced himself as Uncle Mengele

RENE AND RENATE GUTTMANN

  • >Rene and Renate were the twins famously experimented on
  • by the notorious Dr. Mengele
  • > Just before their sixth birthday, they were deported in a
  • cattle car to Auschwitz, Birkenau.
  • > Each morning the twins were required to report for recall.

RENATE GUTTMANN

  • > Right after the Holocaust, Renate was found in Auschwitz by a polish woman,
  • Mrs Mucha, and taken to her house to live. Her name was then changed to Irenka.
  • >Months later, Irenka was taken by the Vaad Hatzallah, a jewish organization
  • from the home in Poland an Jewish Orphange. Her name was then changed again to Irene.

Why was Dr. Mengele coined with the name "The Angel of Death"?

He was named the Angel of Death" because of his Horrible acts during the Holocaust
