RESPECT FOR LAWS

  • Civil Disobedience
  • "We did it to bring the whole issue of racial injustice..."
  • The unfair laws
  • "We do not seek to remove this unjust system for ourselves alone...
  • ... for our white brothers as well."

THE POSSIBILITY OF VIOLENCE

  • "We urged volunteers to give up any possible weapons..."
  • "I took part in the lunch counter sit-ins..."
  • Whites dumped condiments on people who believed in equality.
  • "Not so much as a toothpick."

LEADERSHIP

  • Fight against the Jim Crow Laws with King
