College is about experiencing new things and preparing oneself for the future. What most students do not realize is besides your typical math class, there's so many other opportunities to grow. Living in a dorm is one of these neglected opportunities to gain valuable life lessons. It inhibits personal and interpersonal growth through an ingrained tight knit community similar to living in a house with multiple siblings. Through these experiences, one can learn essential social skills as well as learning imperative pieces about oneself.
