PRESENTATION OUTLINE
As a child Don Bradman grew up in Bowral, later to be known as the boy from Bowral. Until he was 14, Bradman never actually owned a cricket bat. He practised with a golf ball and wicket, hitting it against a tank
In the Dons first season, he played fairly good. In a very important match, his mum said that if he gets 100 runs (a century) he would get a cricket bat. Until then,he had been using either a teammates bat or the club bats. In that innings, he made 352* (a triple century, a very rare thing indeed.)By the way the asterisk means not out, written as a * or a no next to there run tally. " Mum, if I got 3 centuries, then do I get 3 bats?" He said with a cheeky grin on his face. She knew he was joking, and he gladly accepted one.
On October 20th half way through the season , his dad took him to the SCG. When they walked out, Bradman said:" Dad, I want to play on that ground someday." And his dad, somehow predicting the future smiled and said: "You will son."
