There is a lot of misinformation about angels.

Questions we will explore:
Are there such things as guardian angels?
What are angels really?
Why did God create them and what is their relationship to us?
And are there bad angels?

Accounts of Angels from Scripture

After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

So the LORD sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died. When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was afflicting the people, "Enough! Withdraw your hand."

Profile of Satan

• Originally a being of light
• Member of the order of angels called Cherubim
• Called the "god of this world" and "the prince of the power of the air"
• Does not know everything; cannot be everywhere at once; has limitations of power
• See Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28

How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart,
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,

Purpose of Satan

• To destroy, counterfeit, and warp the good things God has created
• Draw worship away from God toward himself
• Uses fear and accusation as his main weapons against the redeemed

RESIST the Enemy

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

REJECT the World

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.”

RUN from the Flesh

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the LORD out of a pure heart.
