PRESENTATION OUTLINE

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS

DOP

  • Me 6.Los/las
  • Te
  • Lo/la
  • Nos
  • Os

-Direct objects receive the action of the verb
-if you where going to ask a question for the DOP you would ask WHAT (of the verb)

INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS

IOP

  • Me 6. Les
  • Te
  • Le
  • Nos
  • Os

-The indirect object receives the direct object.
- the question you would ask = TO WHOM or FOR WHOM

Equation of DOP and IOP:

SUBJECT+IOP+DOP+VERB

There is one rule that is very important

*when the IOP le or les are placed in front of Lo/la or Los/las. le & les become SE

Examples:
-Mi mama coina el pollo(DOP) para mi papa(IOP).
=
Mi mama cocina LO para LE.

Another example:
-Raúl escribe el poema para Brenda

=

- El SE (*LE) LO escribe.
