ONLINE ENVIROMENT

  • How different is it from face to face environment?
  • What are digital contents?
From teacher centered to learner centered. Think empowerment. That’s what technology gave to us all. It democratizes learning because of all the the INFORMATION is provided in the internet. Take note——INFORMATION——not KNOWLEDGE.

Learning should be geared towards that....provided knowledge....not just information.

That’s difference between a good elearning and a not so good one.

Leader, Team, Units

Team

  • Capacity Builder
  • Instructional Design & Content Dev
  • Tech & Applications
Capacity builder: Culture implementor and has the ability to form communities of practice

Instructional Design: Does not necessarily have an education background but has the ability to design an effective and engaging activities to assess whether participants achieved desired learning outcomes.

Tech & Applications. As at least abreast with the recent developments in technology and learning.

5. Learners Profile

6. Subject Matter

What do you know about the content?
What are the details of the subject matter? How can it be taught online? Are there existing digital materials in it? Or will you create it? How?

7. Issues

What are your perceived issues as you move forward?
What are the perceived issues?

Infrastructure: Connectivity, Gadgets, System, Cloud storage

Admin: Who will administer and manage all these? Are they prepared? What are the necessary preparations they need? What are the alternatives?

Trainers: Are they familiar with training online? Can they create their own content? Who will train them?

Trainees: How familiar are they in learning online?

Other Factors

  • Scalability
  • Ease of Use
  • Interoperability
  • Security

Scalability

Users & Scope
When deciding on choosing a system for training and learning, Scalability is an important consideration. How big is your population? Can you roll this out to a larger audience and population. A good system should be able to this.

Ease of Use

User Experience
What is the amount of time should the trainers and trainees need to invest in order to learn the tools.

Good systems take into consideration the user experience.

Interoperability

Sharable Content Object Reference Model
A good and robust system should be able to integrate or at least be able to “talk” with other systems like finance systems, documents management systems and others.

Security

  • Data Encryption
  • Privacy
  • System Security
And the last important aspect of a good systems is security.

We should be able to these three things mentioned in this slide. The things mentioned are quite technical but if you will be implementing a big learning endeavor, this 3 things is a must and only stable and robust systems can provide this.
