And Animation

Digital Art and Animation focuses on design and imaging techniques including discussions on digital composition, color, imaging, editing and animation. Students will work on different types of projects throughout the year, while learning the necessary software and skill to create these projects. Students will use digital cameras and scanners to assist in producing digital images. The lessons will consist of notes covering the topics followed by an exercise to practice the skills. This course covers the editing and creation of both 2D and 3D objects. Individual work, group work and presentations will be expected.

Illustrator

Graphic Designer

A graphic designer is a professional within the graphic design and graphic arts industry who assembles together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design. A graphic designer creates the graphics primarily for published, printed or electronic media, such as brochures (sometimes) and advertising.

Game Designer

Game designers are an important part of a comprehensive team of designers and developers that coordinate the complex task of creating a new video game. Game designers have duties like designing characters, levels, puzzles, art and animation. They may also write code, using various computer programming languages.

2D Animation

An animator produces multiple images called frames, which when sequenced together create an illusion of movement known as animation. The images can be made up of digital or hand-drawn pictures, models or puppets.

3D Animation

A career in 3D animation involves creating 3D moving images using computer software. These images are made with the use of digital models. After the models have been created, details are added, like hair, clothing, skin, grass, trees, and any other item that completes a scene.

Forensic Animation

Forensic animation is one of the most unique specializations in the animation industry. Instead of creating animation for video games, films, and cartoons, professional forensic animators recreate crime scenes or accidents to help investigators produce evidence and solve crimes. In addition to a background in animation, many forensic animators have a legal or criminal justice background.

As visualization specialists, they create imagery that advances medical science knowledge and empowers health literacy for patients and the public. They have the medical and scientific knowledge to grasp complex information, distill it down and communicate the story in a clear visual narrative that is accurate, educational and engaging.
