Digestive System

Joey Sacco

Digestion begins in the mouth with chewing this is called mechanical digestion. As food moves through the digestive system it is broken down by digestive juices this is called chemical digestion. The nutrients are extracted so the body can use them.

organs

  • Mouth
  • Esophagus
  • Stomach
  • Small Intestine
  • Large Intestine

The organs in this system work together to break down foods and get the nutrients from them to help the body function. This system works along with the excretory system to create the waste that is not needed so the excretory system can remove it from the body

The Main Organ
The main organ is probably the stomach because that is where most of the breaking down or the food takes place. All of the parts of this system are important but I feel like this is the main part.

Interesting Facts

  • The large intestine has a useless part
  • Two kinds of digestion
  • works closely with other systems
  • shares parts with other systems
  • it takes all these parts to digest milk

There is nothing you can really do to keep this system healthy because it takes care of its self and keeps its self healthy

Gallstones are small, pebble-like substances that develop in the gallbladder. They form when liquid that has been stored in the gallbladder hardens into pieces the most comon way to treat it is to have surgery to remove it.
