PRESENTATION OUTLINE

differentiation

using technology

My school loop page has links to great sites for DIFFERENTIATION!

My favorites are noREDink, and Whooos Reading (the owl)

noredink

  • adaptive grammar instruction adjusts to each student's skill level
  • lets students choose topics and characters of high interest
  • students work at own individual rates to master topics

Whoos reading?

  • students write paragraphs to answer questions over books they've read
  • the website gives writing tips on conventions and word choice
  • I am able to change each students' instructional level to differentiate
  • questions can be audible, and text to speech is available for student responses.

assessing learning

  • kids self-evaluate according to the rubric
  • kids experience each others creations and learning processes
  • each student is evaluated with the same rubric, but with consideration of individual leaning styles, abilities, and needs
