One person's ideas or rules are set.
The people get no say.

What is it like to live under a dictator?
When you live in a country under a dictatorship you must obey the dictator. WhT they say goes and if you chose to break their said rules. They can punish you how they chose. You cannot trash talk the dictator either and news and reporters dill age is monitored to make sure they obey what the dictator says.

Do they work?
Dictatorships are successful for leading a country, but not leading it well. The people hate living there and they live in fear that they will be killed or someone they love will be. They have happened in the past and there are dictatorships today as well.
