  • Refered to as 'The largest slum in Asia'.
  • It's located in the heart of Mumbai.
  • Dharavi's borders are two busy train stations.
  • A landfill but many people still live there.

Industries

  • There are many industries/local businesses located in Dharavi.
  • The people decide to start making pottery.
  • Or selling/making bread and other pastries.
  • Many make embroidered, traditional indian clothes.
  • There are also people who get money by picking out the trash from the landfill.

People

  • There are 18000 people living in a single acre of land.
  • It means sharing 300 sq mi with 15 other people.
  • There isn't much space or resources available here.
  • Many people want to send their children to school so they can have a brighter future.

Dharavi is...

  • Home to so many people.
  • Dharavi is also the center of many things: Globally, Spiritually, and Physiologically.
  • The people of Dharavi made this place what it is and are proud of this place.
  • I think they know something that not many people realize until it's too late,
  • We don't realize how much we take for granted and this many people shouldn't have to go through all this.
