Base of the basic

There is not much information about his life beforehand, but Cha moved from South Korea when he was 12 to Potomac, Md. How or Why... As he grew, he took on a business called Art & Frame, Depot. Eventually, that business went under. Derek still owns one store though, located in Dallas. "For 20 some years, I was doing so well I needed to fall," he said. "I was very discouraged, but in my heart I always knew that hardship is a blessing. Because through the hardships you come to terms with God. If I'm always doing great, I feel like I'm doing things for myself." In 2009, he moved to Richmond, VA, believing that God guided him there to open some sort of business. What that business was supposed to be? Yeah, he had no idea. One day, he came across a spot next to a theater which made him think, “My goodness, that's the perfect spot for a frozen yogurt or ice cream shop!” Awards/Accomplishments Derek Cha’s goal was to open 50 stores by 2020, a goal which he completed in only three years.
