DOK LEVELS

• DOK-1: knowledge acquisition DOK-2: knowledge application DOK-3: knowledge analysis DOK-4: knowledge augmentation

DOK-1: What is the knowledge?

• acquire and gather information
• who, what, where, wheN QUESTIONS
• recall or reproduce how or why
• The answers are either correct or incorrect.

DOK-2: How can the knowledge be used?

• demonstrate and communicate conceptS
• analytical questions THAT examine/explain
• show APPLICATION OF CONCEPTS
• application of information rather than the HOW TO.

DOK-3: Why can the knowledge be used?

• focus ON analyze and evaluating how and why concepts can be transferred
• promptS about how could you use INFORMATION/SKILLS
• CRITIQUE credibility, validity, different perspectives, and points of viewS
• defend AND refute conclusions

DOK-4: How can the knowledge be USED FURTHER?

• extend thinking deeper within the subject, across curriculum, OR beyond
• think critically about the impact, implications, and influence
• share IN active and authentic learning TASKS
• in-depth research, examinations, investigations, and demonstrations
