  • Depth of Knowledge (DoK) categorizes tasks according to the complexity of thinking required to successfully complete them.

  • DOK-1: knowledge acquisition DOK-2: knowledge application DOK-3: knowledge analysis DOK-4: knowledge augmentation

DOK-1: What is the knowledge?

  • acquire and gather information
  • who, what, where, wheN QUESTIONS
  • recall or reproduce how or why
  • The answers are either correct or incorrect.

DOK-2: How can the knowledge be used?

  • demonstrate and communicate conceptS
  • analytical questions THAT examine/explain
  • show APPLICATION OF CONCEPTS
  • application of information rather than the HOW TO.
