Depressants are usually in pill form, but can also be crushed and snorted or injected into the body.

SHORT-TERM EFFECTS

• Slows normal brain functions
• Gives drowsy feeling
• Slows CNS (central nervous system)

LONG-TERM EFFECT

• Strong addiction leading to painful withdrawals
• Seizures
• DEATH

Extra: depressants are rarely from illicit labs. Usually they are over the counter and end up on the illicit market.
