  • The independency was won from Belgium
  • When the democratic republic of congo became a country most Belgians left.

  • They have a population of 77,433,744 people.
  • The most dominant religion is Roman Catholic at 50%
  • Their birth rate is 2.5%
  • The death rate is 10.3%
  • The infant mortality rate is 73.15%

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO GOVERNMENT

  • The capital is located in Kinshasa
  • They have a republic government
  • The picture is of their capital building

  • The countries GNI is $400
  • Their bills are called Francs
  • 1 USD = 925 Francs

CULTURE (FOOD)

  • Most people have to forage for their food.
  • They collect nuts, grubs, and fruits.
  • Some grow fruits.
  • Some hunt for wild game.

  • Roman catholic is the dominant religion at 50%
  • Protestant is 20%
  • The other 30% is divided up by many other religions

  • The longest one is the Congo river that goes for 2900 miles
  • The shortest is the Ubangi river that goes on for 660 miles

  • The largest lake is lake Tanganyika
  • The congo river flows into lake Tanganyika

  • It has diverse wildlife
  • It covers 46% of the democratic republic of Congo
  • Poaching animals is a big issue in this area
