Purpose

  • When the Swedish first settled into Delaware, they wanted great items to trade
  • Was first Pennsylvania until it was divided into sections we now call Delaware

Location

  • Is one of the 13 colonies
  • Delaware is below New Jersey
  • Is one of the Middle Colonies
  • Natural resources in the Delaware Colony included farmland, forest (timber), coal, furs, fish, and iron ore!

Daily Life

  • Men are usually farmers or tobacco traders
  • Women did house work
  • Boys helped their father do farm work
  • Girls help their mother do house work
  • Those not in the christian religion was the ones that those condemned and persecuted
  • Economy is thriving and couldnt be better!
  • William Penn is the ruler!

Famous people

  • William Penn - was given a grant for the land of Pennsylvania, which is part of present day Delaware
  • Lord Baltimore - was angered that William Penn had split Delaware and declared Delaware independent from Pennsylvania
  • Peter Minut - First founded the land
