WE CAN BE HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS BY OURSELVES!

WE WILL LEAVE YOU NOW AND BE HAPPY IN OUR ABILITY TO DISCONNECT FROM YOU FOREVER.

WE, THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN GENERAL CONGRESS

assembled, and with the people's approval, will not be owned by any

kings of England or anyone else who claims power;

As we are now free we have the power to start wars, end

peace, make friends, make trades, and do everything

else free countries may do.

AND FOR THE SUPPORT OF THIS DECLARATION, WE MUTUALLY PLEDGE EACH OTHER OUR

LIVES, OUR FORTUNES, AND OUR SACRED HONOR.
