Definition of Murder:
The killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law.

  • Fortitude- It gives us the strength to let that person live.
  • Faith- Believes that the person can be given a second chance.
  • Hope- We hope that person can do good.
  • Temperance- Helps us have control over what bad things we believe about the death penalty.

IS THE DEATH PENALTY EFFECTIVE?

  • Rarely used.
  • It takes years for the execution to happen.
  • Very few witnesses.
  • Guilt

DEATH PENALTY STATS

  • Homicide rates are higher in regions with the death penalty.
  • Life in prison without parole costs less than the death penalty.
  • 139 wrongly convicted people on death row have been exonerated.
  • Wealthy defendants who pay for great lawyers will almost never be executed.
  • The death penalty is very expensive so innocent people don't get executed.

  • He believes it is unjust.
  • Also thinks it's unfair for the person to be killed for wrong actions.
  • The catholics used to be okay with the death penalty before Pope John Paul II.
  • He was the person who changed what we believe about thr death penalty.
