  • Sojourns through the nine circles of Inferno (Hell)
  • 35 years old
  • Is guided by Virgil through Inferno

Virgil

  • Dante's guide through Inferno
  • Also serves as Dante's protectorate from danger

1st circle of Inferno

  • Reserved for athiests
  • Reserved for the unbaptized
  • Here resides Aristotle and Virgil himself

2nd circle of Inferno

  • Guarded by King Minos
  • Reserved for those who actively sinned
  • Domain of the sin of lust

3rd circle of Inferno

  • Guarded by Cerberus
  • Reserved for the gluttonous
  • Reserved also for the self-indulgent

4th circle of Inferno

  • Guarded by Pluto, an ancient god of wealth
  • Reserved for the greedy

5th circle of inferno

  • Reserved for the prideful

6th circle of Infrno

  • Reserved for Heretics
  • Reserved also for those who're angry with God

7th circle of inferno

  • Split into 3 rings and guarded by the Minotaur
  • 1st Ring: Res. for those violent against property
  • 2nd Ring: Res. for those who commit suicide
  • 3rd Ring: Res. for blasphemers against God & nature

8th Circle    of Inferno

  • Reserved for those who destroy the structure of society
  • I.E. corrupt politicians, pimps, hypocrites...
  • ...thieves, liars and cheats

9th Circle of Inferno

  • The final Circle of Hell
  • Reserved for the worst sin of all, Treachery
  • Guarded by giants
  • Where we find the last important character, Satan
  • This Circle is frozen entirely

Satan
A giant, terrifying, hairy beast with three different colored faces, chewing on the three worst traitors of all--Brutus, Cassius, and Judas. He is also frozen in the 9th Circle to endure his eternal suffering

Overview
I would not recommend this book to just anyone. It is difficult to understand. if you want to read it, you must have a dictionary next to you.
