Dad,
you are the most selfless,
forgiving
and caring person I know.
You offer remarkable
amounts of love
to everyone daily.
Since the first time my tiny hand
wrapped around your strong yet affectionate finger,
I have loved my daddy.
I remember the safety, condolence and gentleness
I have always found and continue to find by reaching
OUT MY HAND AND SLIDING IT INTO YOURS.
Then, I attentively watched your actions and attempted to imitate them,
with fascination full of wonder and admiration.
Now that I am older,
I regard you with respect, admiration and love.
Dad, you could not imagine how much I look up to you.
Your example inspires me to strive to become a compassionate,
Christ like figure.
I also love your sense of humor!
I want to be like you when I grow up
(although I could do without the white hair) :)
You have always been my pal.
I treasure the moments we get to spend together
discussing history,
math or science,
running,
cooking,
spending an afternoon wood turning in the garage,
or just hanging out.
Whenever I am around you, I feel a security
of love surrounding and defending me.
There are no words to express the gratitude I have for your unfailing understanding, patience and true kindness.
Thank you for constantly
listening to me and encouraging me.
God not only gave me a father,
He blessed me
with a dad.
