The National Weather Service said the storm will impact an estimated 29 million people over a 250-mile stretch in northeastern states, extending from the New Jersey shore to Maine, which includes the cities of New York, Providence, Hartford and Boston

Now almost 5 days after the predictions some local areas reported less than 3 inches of snow, as the storm moved along the coastline about 50 to 75 feet farther east than meteorologists had predicted.

Other cities aside from NYC were hit with 23.3 inches of snow as well as 70 mph winds. Nearly all of the 12,000 residents on the island of Nantucket lost electricity. Currently, more than 11,000 people in Mass. remain without power.
