  • Fiscal presure by Spain.
  • The fall of the Spanish Empire in America.
  • Spain's international conflicts.

INTERNAL CAUSES

  • Economic and social issues.
  • High taxes.
  • Lack of political representation.

PROCESS OF INDEPENDENCE

  • Cuba's independence started in February 24, 1895 and ended in February 15, 1898. Altough this wasn't the First attemp from Cuba for independence, before this war, 2 others were fought, the first from 1868 to1878 and the second from 1879 to1880
