crucible project

by: Ashley carabantes

many families and people were targeted during the Salem witch trials and many people lost their lives. this all took place in a small village named Salem village in Massachusetts. In 1697 the Salem Jurys came out with an apology towards the innocent people that were targeted.

act 1 main events

  • Reverend Paris saw all the girls in the forest dancing like "heathens".
  • Abigail makes the girls swear that they will NOT tell the truth.
  • Abigail tells HALE that Tituba was the devil and that Tituba made the girls dance like that.

dear governor Phips,
I believe we should put an end to these trials. we should put an end to these trials because many people are losing their lives. we are accusing many people with witchcraft without any actual evidence. Elizabeth made a great point. " why not if they must hang for denying it ? there are them that will swear to anything before they'll hang" (act 2). we are accusing innocent people and they are not denying because they will get hanged. people rather agree than to die hanged. people are also accusing one another. we do not know if we are getting information from trust worthy people. many people can lie and I believe that some people that are speaking out are lying. we need to gather people that can be trust worthy to gather evidence that is true. we are accusing people with information that people are telling us but do we really believe all these people are "witches"?

the act of the crucible resonates with us in some way. In the act many people were not sticking together and blaming each other for being involved with witchcraft or for being a witch. in todays society many of us do not stick together and we believe that by blaming others we accomplish so much. we believe that other things are more important than sticking together and protecting each other.
