Slide Notes

I am someone who likes to see the whole picture. In seeking for understanding I ask lots of questions to get that big picture. However, sometimes the picture is too big, complicated or negative to help. In this case, I just needed to know that there was a big divide.

I NEED TO PAUSE TO SEE THE HEART

I worked with an amazing principal who taught me to "see" the person first. Central to our choices and behaviors is our heart. I need to see the human first and pause to see the heart as well.

ARE YOU WORKING HARD...

...OR HARDLY WORKING?
Growing up, my dad would often ask...
It was a gentle reminder to be accountable which also translated into, when you are at work, you work!

WORK

LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE

AS OPPORTUNITIES TO TEACH

I APPROACH ALL PROBLEMS
I am a teacher at heart and I always approach problems with teaching / learning solutions. Sometimes the solution is not about teaching and learning.

Sometimes it is just about focusing on the moment and forgetting the problem for just that brief amount of time.
