MILKY WAY GALAXY

A GALAXY IS A GIANT SYSTEM MADE OF STARS, STELLAR REMNANTS AND INTERSTELLAR MEDIUMS SUCH AS GAS AND DUST. A GALAXY IS MADE WHEN

PLANETARY NEBULA

AN EXAMPLE OF PLANETARY NEBULA WOULD BE THE HELIX NEBULA. IT IS LOCATED IN THE CONSTELLATION AQUARIUS. A PLANETARY NEBULA IS A RING SHALED NEBULA THAT CONSISTS OF GAS EXPANDING FROM AROUND AND AGING STAR. A PLANETARY NEBULA IS FORMED WHEN A STAR REACHES THE END OF ITS LIFE AND DURING THE RED GIANT PHASE THE OUTER LAYER OF THE STAR PULSATES OUT. The ultraviolet radioation coming from the core ionizes the ejected layer of the star to create a planetary nebula.

SUPERNOVA REMNANT

Kepler's supernova is an example of a supernova remnant. It is located in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is a leftover star after going throughnansuper nova. A supernova remnant is made from the explosion of a star in a supernova.

DIFFUSE NEBULA

NGC 6357 is an example of a diffuse nebula. A diffuse nebula is a cluster of stars in a cloud of dust and gas. It is located in the constellation Scorpius.

GLOBULAR CLUSTER

NGC 7006 is an example of a global cluster. It is located in the constellation known as delphinus. A globular cluster is a spherical collection of stars that orbits a galactic core. How they are formed is still unknown however they are said to be one of the oldest objects in the universe.

OPEN CLUSTER

An example of open cluster is the pleiades also known as the seven sisters is located in the constellation taurus. An open cluster is a group of a few thousand stars that were formed from the same molecular cloud and are about the same age. An open cluster is formed when a giant molecular cloud collapses and begins to break into smaller and smaller clouds which eventual forms several thousand stars.

STAR

An example of a star is our sun it is located at the center of our solar system.A star is a sphere of plasma that is held together by gravity. It is made when a cloud of gas collapses and increases in density.

PLANET

An example of a planet is jupiter it is the fifth planet from the sun. A planet is a celetial body that is bound together by gravity and moves in an elliptical orbit around the sun. Planets are made when a nebula collapses into a disk of gas and dust. A protostar is formed at the core of this and particles in the disk begin to collide sticking togther and forming a planet.

COMET

An example of a comet is Halley's.A comet is a small icy body in the solar system that whennclose enough to the sun creates a small trail. Comets are made from leftover materials from when planets were forming.
