DEPRESSANTS

  • Slow down the central nervous system.
  • Relax muscles.
  • Commonly used depressants is alcohol.
  • Relieve feelings of tension and worry.
  • Include Rohyphol and GHB.

BARBITURATES

  • Belong to a family of sedative.
  • You sleep more than normaly or go into coma.
  • Results in mood changes.
  • Rarely used for medical used illegally to produce a feeling of intoxication.
  • Barbuturates+alcohol can be fatal.

PHOHYPNOL

  • 10x strong as tranquilizer.
  • Used in crimes of dating violence.
  • It looks like a ordinary aspirin...(but isnt.)
  • The victim wakes up much later within hours.
  • Not knowing what happen.

GHB

  • Just like Rohypnol its used in date-rape crimes.
  • Is available as a clear liquid, white powder, or in variety of tablets.
  • Easily overdose on GHB.
  • Street name:liquid x made in a laboratory in 1969.
  • 1972 by Rocne & used in hospitals when deep sedation was needed.

  • Causes liver damage.
  • Earliest time was Ancient Greece.
  • Nobodyknows were exactly originated.
