  • Alaska was rulen by the russian empire until 1867 when the Russians decided that it was "a frozen wasteland "
  • There were many mixed feelings about the purchase of Alaska because people believed it was useless.
  • It was sold for 7.2 million dollars

BUT THERE WAS MORE THEN JUST ICE ...

  • In 1893 Hawaii was taken over by American colonists and planters
  • The reason it was taken over by was because it had a huge industry of sugar and fruits
  • Queen Liliuokalani was ruler at that time

  • Cuba becomes free but U.S.A runs Cuba under the Platt amendment

  • Philippines history with the U.S.A started when the U.S.A invaded the Philippines during the Spanish - American War
  • U.S.A joined up with Emilio Aquinaldo , the leader of the Philippines resistance , and together they take the islands.

  • In 1900 the boxer rebellion happened because of countries (mostly missionaries) who where entering freely
  • The boxers thought they could stop a bullet with martial art technics

  • Theodore Rooselvelt took office in 1901
  • President Theodore is said to be the first modernized president of the U.S.A , for example he oversaw the negotiations building the Panama Canal which changed the whole world
  • Rooselvelt made a forge in policy which allows the U.S to expand his influence on the world

WOODROW WILSON

  • Woodrow took office in 1913
  • Wilsons foreign policy allowed the U.S to spread democracy
