California's geography

  • Northern California uses water from the sacramento and san joaquin
  • Both of the rivers are drying up fast because of the drought
  • Southern California gets 30 precent from groundwater.
  • 70 precent is imported from Owens valley, Colorado river and state water project.

CALIFORNIA'S WATER CRISIS

  • All of the rivers are drying up because of this climate change.
  • This is a big problem for California.
  • Normally California is warm and sunny but this little or no rainfall is a real problem.
  • In California you need to drink a lot of water because it is so dry
  • It is getting harder to find water

EFFECTS ON ECONOMY

  • People are losing jobs and crops can't grow
  • Food is becoming more expensive because it is scarce.
  • Thirsty crops can't grow they are unable to grow because they require a lot of water.

PROBLEMS SPICIFIC TO CALIFORNIA

  • Most people in California have lost running water
  • Those people are forced to go to the fire station to get water
  • This water is not drinkable
  • Most people have to depend on volenteres
  • To hand out botled water.

ACTION PLAN

  • To save water you should.....
  • Write to the govner
  • Put in artifical grass
  • Conserve water by turning off the faucet
  • Or taking shorter showers

  • To save water I think that you should....
  • Make people use less water
