John green is and award winning author of several books including Looking for Alaska, The Fault in our Stars and Paper Towns. John Green was born in 1977. He now lives in Indianapolis with his wife and two kids. He also runs a YouTube change with his brother Hank and has millions of followers.

Plot overview:
Miles never anticipated falling in love, but loving Alaska was inevitable. Then like a cloud of smoke she was gone.

Chip: Chip is the friend who has a good grasp on boarding school life and takes Miles under his wing when he enters boarding school.

Significance of the title:
In the beginning, the before, Alaska was already mysterious enough. But after she leaves everyone all mixed up about her life and reasons of why she left. And that's why they're looking for her.

Why this book is important.
This book is not only about the life of teams being influenced by the modern culture, but has much more significance. It is important because drugs have become much more common occurrence with teens. It is also important because people take other people for granted and never realize how much someone means to them till they're gone.
