Assignment: Use Haiku Deck to share what you did this summer

1. Select your slide type

you can choose a different type of slide for each new slide you add to your presentation.
You'll also want to consider at this point whether or not your slide will have a picture or graphic added to it.

2. Set your background

Haiku will use key words from what you typed on your slide to help you choose a background, or you can search with your own key words or phrases. You can also use pictures from your files or other social sites.

3. Select a layout

This gives you options for where your text and pictures will go

4. Add some notes

The notes you add here will not be seen by others during your presentation - just you! This helps you to not just read off of the slide (your audience can do that themselves!!), but to add the extra details that would be too much for your audience to read.

5. Have some fun!

Experiment with some of the different things you can do with Haiku Deck. Try some different background options, themes, layouts. Remember, though, you don't want what's on your slides to distract from your actual presentation! Themes, pictures, layouts should enhance your ideas, not take away from them!

6. Save your "Deck"

Each presentation that you make is called a Deck (think of it like a deck of cards). You can save by clicking on the "Untitled Haiku Deck" up in the left-hand corner by the origami bird.  It will also save changes as you go.
This slide also demonstrates the importance of carefully choosing your Slide format!! Obviously, I had way too much information for that type of slide!

7. Add slides as you go.

You can add slides by pressing the "+" box in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Each time you add a slide, you go through the process of selecting the type, background, layout, adding notes if necessary, and adding pictures if you want. Please include at least six slides in your presentation!
