what is Interpersonal communication?
- It is a special form of Human Communication.
- It occurs when two people interact.
- Focus on face-to-face encounters.
The quality
- Different communication with friend versus a stranger.
- May not occur when interacting with someone.
- Occurs when treating someone as a human being.
Mutual Influence
- Means that both partners are affected by interaction.
- Doesn't mean it involves persuasion.
- Asking a question to someone and assuming they hear you.
Manage relationships
- Relationships are ongoing connection made through interpersonal communication.
- The term relationship signals something serious and romantic.
- We initiate and form relationships through communication.
