LETS TALK ABOUT WHAT ARE THE 5 HABITAT REGIONS

  • Moutains
  • Piedmont
  • Costal plains
  • Marsh/swamp/bog
  • Ocean

NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE MOUTAINS

  • The moutains are located in the northen part of georgia
  • The weather in the mountains is warm in the summer but really cold in the winter.
  • The type of land in the moutains are, soils are very rocky and shallow. Where soil is a few inches
  • The type of plants in the moutains are, Wild flowers, shurbs, oaks, evergreens, and, hemlocks
  • The type of animals in the moutains are, Bobcats, skunks, bats, birds, snakes, and, turdles

NEXT WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE PIEDMONT

  • The piedmont is located between the moutains and the plains.
  • The weather in the piedmont is, hot in the summer, same winter in the moutains.
  • The type of land in the piedmont is, red clay soil.
  • The plants in the piedmont are, Maples, sweetgums, and, beeches.
  • The animals in the piedmont are, birds, skunks, deer, fox, squirrels, and, white footed mice.

RIGHT NOW WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE COASTAL PLAINS

  • The coastal plains is located south georgia.
  • The weather in the plains is mild winter, hot summer.
  • The type of land in the plains is, flat sandy soil.
  • The type of plants in the plains are, seaoats, beachgrass.
  • The animals in the plains are, deer, bobcats, rattlesnakes, skunks, opossums, raccons, quail, and, songbirds

WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE SWAMP/MARSH/BOG NOW

  • Swamps can be located all over georgia.
  • Swamps do not have a weather, it depends on what region it is in.
  • The land in the swamps is wet spongey soil.
  • The plants in the swamp are only lilies.
  • Not that much animals, allgators, ducks.

FINALY WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE OCEAN

  • The ocean is located off the coast of georgia.
  • The weather in the ocean is, really mild winter.
  • The type of land in the ocean is, salt water.
  • The plants in the ocean are only, seaweed, alge.
  • The only animals in the wetlands are, rite whales, very rare, pelcains, dophins.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE HABITAT CHANGES

  • For example lets say you build a house in the moutains.
  • If you build a house on the mountains all of the animals will go away.
  • Next, the habitat will go away forever.
  • So, thats why most animals are indanger.
  • It is still okay to build the house in the habitat.

WHAT ARE ADAPTATIONS ?

  • Adaptations are the needs for an animal to survive.
  • If animals did not have any adaptations they cannot survive.
  • Here are 2 examples of adaptations.
  • The rattle snake has a rattle on its tail to warn people to stay away.
  • The monarch butterfly has colors to warn animals away.
