WHAT'S THE EQUATION

USES

  • Adding ethylene glycol to water lowers the freezing-point to a radiator
  • Adding salt to an icy road also lowers the road's freezing-point

WHAT SALTS ARE ECO-FRIENDLY?

  • Although salts are great for melting ice on roads they harm the environment
  • In all honesty, try not to use salts but do try sand, coffee grounds, organic, salt-free De-Icer, or urea.
  • If using salts is a must then pick them carefully

USES IN PEOPLE'S LIVES

  • Making ice cream
  • Melting ice on roads
  • Radiators
