  • The U.S. policy of attempting to restrict Soviet power and influence around the world by preventing the spread of communism.

MARSHALL PLAN

  • A U.S. aid plan designed to promote economic recovery in Europe after World War ||.

  • A mutual defense pact formed by Western nations in 1949.

WARSAW PACT

  • A 1995 defense pact between the USSR and Eastern European Nations.

ARMS RACE

  • A competition to achieve weapons superiority.

CULTURAL REVOLUTION

  • A period of revolutionary upheaval and political persecution in China from 1966 to 1976.

KOREAN WAR

  • A war from 1950 to 1953 between communist North Korea and Noncommunist South Korea that involved the Soviet and Chinese support for the North and U.S. And in support for the South.

DOMINO THEORY

  • The policy of building a weapons Arsenal so deadly that no other nation will dare attack.

HOW DID COLD WAR CHANGE THE WORLD?

  • They decided to have nuclear weapons to destroy other nations, but now they want other nations to get rid of those nuclear weapons because of something happens there going straight to taking those nuclear weapons out and killing each other destroying our world with those technological weapons.
