  • Are substances in food that our bodies need to stay healthy

TYPES OF NUTRIENTS

  • There are 5 types called
  • Proteins
  • Fats or lipids
  • Carbohydrates
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals

PROTEINS

  • Are bricks that need to grow and repair damage to the body

Meat ( chicken, beef)
Fish and seafood
Egg, Milk , Chesse
Salami, Ham, Sausage
Seeds (bean, lentil)

CARBOHYDRATES

  • Give us energy and heat to develop all activities.
  • Are of plant origin

For example:
Corn , Rice, Wheat
Cerely, Potato, Banana , Sugar
Lentil, Beans, Peas

FATS OR LIPIDS

  • Strongest source of energy for our brain
  • Source of CALORIES for children
  • Adults should consume in moderation

For example
Oils
Meat red , Chicken skin, Milk, Butter, Avocado
Pistachipo , Nuts and Almonds

Calories

  • Is the amount of energy in food and beverages we consume daily

VITAMINS

  • A, D, E, K, C, complex B
  • Folic acid
  • They help in the process of transformation of energy
  • Strengthen the body's defense system against disease

*Fruit
*Vegetables
*Green vegetables

Minerals

  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • zinc
  • Iodine
  • Support the growth, reproduction and muscle function

Contained in
* In animal foods

FIBER

  • Help expel what the body does not need
  • Reduce fat in the body and blood
  • Prevents diseases such as cancer

Cointained in:
*green vegetables (carrot, lettuce, cucumber)
*Fruits (apple, orange)
*Grains ( bean, lentil)
*Vegetables (spinach )
*Cereals integrals

All these groups are found in the plate of good food evenly balanced

The jar of fine wines complemented healthy eating



Fluid we should consume most is water

Poor nutrition can cause health problems:
* heart disease
*diabetes
*some cancer

Physical activity and nutrition are key to maintaining a healthy weight and prevent disease
