Film posters contains images of the main actors, their names and the name of the film(in bold). Director's is also written in bold if he/she has more popularity than the main actors. Release date of the film and few other actors names are also mentioned in the film posters.
Design conventions- these conventions includes the colouring and the angle of the image on the poster. Also the name of the actor or directors names written in bold and in a larger front based of their popularity.
The effectiveness of the conventions - conventions of film posters allow the film maker to illustrate the theme of the film to the audience. Moreover,if the conventions are done correctly, it will attract more audience for the film.
