graduate & Run

Most students when they graduate CCBC with a degree leave the college community and rarely return.

Where to get CEu?

  • We want them back
  • we don't want them going to other institutions
  • we want to be their ce provider
However, many professions require yearly (or longer) continuing education "units" in order to keep certification or licensure either nationally or locally or both.

Our former students access many providers for "CEUs" spending their dollars elsewhere.

So why can't we be their CEU provider?

welcome back!

CCBC should be the place where our own graduates and others around the state and nation can come for professional credentialing.

UMBC has no Con Ed department. So when they jumped on the professional credentialing bandwagon, they developed The Training Center.

Their website is ultra-modern with clean graphics and easy-to-find resources, ALL IN ONE PLACE.

the open door

ccbc's new pathway for professional credentialing
My group project idea is to develop a new Pathway for professional credentialing, called The Open Door.

I am suggesting to develop a process to pull together the two sides of Credit and Noncredit to make the process of creating courses, seminars, even certificates for mostly untapped arenas of CEUs that follow many of our existing workforce programs.

what already exists?

  • con ed requires an loi
  • scale for pricing
  • budget transfer
Process is more casual. Payment and profit scales are not standard across departments.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

  • Create website
  • Create forms
  • Create standardized process and price list
  • Maybe complete one example and show college how anyone can do this

industry

Industries require them.

EXPANSION

THIS COULD BE EXPANDED TO OTHER INITIATIVES
This could be expanded to other initiatives for the college, such as stackable credentials, job training, other non-traditional learning.
