The teacher will read a a text chosen specifically to expose students to the content words needed to understand the unit currently being taught.

The teacher will point out relevant vocabulary during a read aloud of the text, creating an anchor chart to keep track of the new words.

Once students are familiar with the content vocabulary, they will use various texts to practice identifying the words.

Using the A-Z Sentence Summary TPT, students will work together to choose a content vocabulary word and a random letter from the alphabet to create a new sentence that displays understanding of the content.
