CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE

-Post modern is a stye that is aware of it self as writing and wants the readers opinion to influence the story.

Decline of modernism. No longer impersonal,allusive, difficult poetry. Times called for a more personal and accessible approach to poetry.

Before the contemporary period nonfiction writing was not considered literature and was put in the same category as journalism and news. Nonfiction really began to become its own genre and overlap with fiction in the contemporary period

The Contemporary Literature time period has been around since around 1950 and is still the current style of literature. It is one of the longest lasting styles of literature. Because of this there are many famous authors, books, and events that took place during this period.
