HOW THEY RELATE

  • Confirmation relates to this because we are moving up in the church.
  • Boy Scouts need to take more responsibility just like confirmed people.
  • When we are confirmed we have to take more responsibility of our faith.
  • Also the ceremony shows that they are moving up.
  • Confirmation in front of the church shows the candidate is moving up.

BAR MITZVAHS

  • A bar mitzvah is a coming of age for boys in the Jewish faith.
  • It happens to 13 year old boys.
  • It is when the boy assumes the responsibility of his faith.
  • He now has to abide by commandments.

HOW THEY RELATE

  • They relate because it is when a boy takes responsibility for his faith.
  • Confirmation is when catholics take responsibility for their faith.
  • Also Bar Mitzvahs show that the boy is confirming his belief in the faith.

CONFIRMATION IS UNIQUE

  • Confirmation is unique because you receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
  • It is the only sacrament which you receive the gifts.
  • It's unique from Bar Mitzvahs because it's deeper than just a coming of age
  • Boy Scout ceremonies you receive something physical unlike the Holy Spirit.
  • Confirmation is unique because it connects you to God in a new way.
