INFECTIOUS AND NONINFECTIOUS

  • The difference between infectious disease is that it is caused by bacteria, virus,parasites or fungi. The disease can be spread directly and indirectly.
  • Non infectious diseases are known as non communicable disease. They are caused by genetics, environment and lifestyle. They don't pass on person to person.

  • PATHOGENS -GERMS that can cause disease.

CHRONIC VS ACUTE

  • A chronic illness develops and worsens over a long period of time.
  • An acute illness symptoms appear and change rapidly.

SICK SYMPTOMS

  • The symptoms of someone being sick is coughing,sneezing, stuffy/runny nose.

  • Washing your hands

BEHAVIOR FACTOR FOR CRONIC ILLNESSES

  • tobacco use. the harmful use of alcohol. raised blood pressure or hypertension physical inactivity. raised cholesterol. overweight/obesity. unhealthy diet. raised blood glucose.

PREVENTION

  • Wash your hands often. Get vaccinated. Use antibiotics.Stay at home if you have signs and symptoms of an infection. Be smart about food preparation. Practice abstinence because it's a the only way to not get STDS Don't share personal items.

  • It's very important to get help because the disease can worsen without treatment
  • The disease can spread to one person to another without knowing
  • ALWAYS CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IF THERE IS A PROBLEM ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
