🔺 RED 🔺
Western meaning: Love, Seduction, Violence, anger.
Global Meaning: 'Stop'
Special Meaning: Captures attention, red focuses behind the
retina which forces the lens grow more convex to pull it forward.
Shades: Yellow-based reds are "tomato reds", Blue-Based reds are "berry reds"

🔸ORANGE🔸

  • Western Meaning: Energy, Vitality, Warmth, Good Health
  • Global Meaning: Autumn, Vitamin C, Hazard Cones.
  • Special Meaning: "Safety Orange" Used for hunting and construction zones.
  • Shades: Terracotta, cayenne, dark orange, persimmon, pumpkin, mango.
  • Facts: Orange was a "groovy colour" back in the 70's.

💚 GREEN 💚
Western Meaning: Ecology, Nature, Environmemt.
Global Meaning: Growth, Rebirth, fertility.
Special Meaning: Some States in the US have put diagonal lines through green traffic lights for the colour blind.
Shades: Greens range from yellow green to bluish greens.
Interesting Facts: Approximately 5%- 0% of men and 0.5% of women are born colourblind.

Western Meaning: Peace, serenity, spiritual cleanliness, intelligent.
Global Meaning: Most blues convey a sense of trust, loyalty, cleanliness, and understanding. On the other hand, blue evolved as symbol of depression in American culture. “Singing the blues” and feeling blue” are good examples of the complexity of color symbolism and how it has been evolved in different cultures.
Special Meaning: Blue is the No #1 favourite colour in the world.
Shades: Blue ranks so high as a favorite color that you can’t go wrong if you use blue.
Interesting Facts: 53% of all flags in the world contain blue.

PURPLE

  • Western meaning: magic, mystery, spirituality, sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty
  • Global Meaning: Purple tends to be a color that people either love or hate. .
  • Special meaning: Purple is a symbolic color for the gay community in many Western cultures.
  • Shades: There are three distinct shades of purples: Red-Purple, Purple, Blue-Purple.
  • Facts: It took some 12,000 shellfish to extract 1.5 grams of the pure dye - 1900 B.C

💗 PINK 💗
Western Meaning: In colloquial language, to be "tickled pink" describes a state of joy, a "pink slip" is a notice that you've been fired from your job, to be "in the pink" suggest good fortune and health, and a "pinko" is a person who is extremely liberal, a socialist or a communist.
Global Meaning: In almost every culture pink is associated with girls.
Special Meanings: Going back to the ancient Egypt, the flamingo was the hieroglyph for the color red.
Shades: It can range from berry pinks to salmon pinks.
Interesting Facts: "With parakeets the male's nose is blue and the female's is pink."
