• They had to bring more than 20 items with them so it was really tough.

Pikes Peak gold rush

• William Russell was the first to find gold.
• A lot of there equipment was not easy to use.
• Some of the gear were pics,shovels,and pans.

Prospectors

• Prospectors were people looking for gold and silver.
• There were over 1,000 prospectors at the Colorado gold rush.
• They camped near streams flowing out of the Rocky Mountains.
• John Ralston found a trace of gold in a creek next to todays town Arvada.

Colorado Gold

• There were two kinds of gold in Colorado.
• Colorado had placer gold and load gold.
• Gold can not change colors.
• Gold can not erode

More Discoveries

• When George A. Jackson found a half ounce of gold it was a success
• When six men found gold in Gold Run Creek it was another success.
• The biggest discovery is when John Gregory gold along the North Creek
• Thousands of miners went to the same spot because of the discovery
